There are waterfront homes, and then there are homes designed entirely around the freedom of living on the water.
Recently launched at one of Runaway Bay’s most tightly held Broadwater positions, Wayfarer is a collection of just six residences bringing together private beachfront living, direct boating access and an extraordinary level of private amenity.
Since its launch, Wayfarer has captured significant attention across the country, with coverage from major national outlets including 9News and the Australian Financial Review, alongside multiple media platforms across Australia — recognition that speaks to the rarity and significance of what is being created on this stretch of the Gold Coast.
Six residences. Six private berths. One private beach.
Positioned at 2–4 Poinsettia Avenue, Wayfarer occupies a northeast-facing site overlooking the Broadwater towards South Stradbroke Island, with bridge-free access through to the Pacific Ocean.
For boating enthusiasts, that distinction matters.
Each residence has its own private marina berth and marine storage, allowing owners to step from home to boat without the marina commute, launching, retrieval or scheduling that typically comes with boating on the Gold Coast.
At the shoreline, residents also have direct access to a private beach.
It is an increasingly difficult combination to replicate: a boutique residential address with genuine beachfront access, a berth for every home and open-water connectivity beyond it.
Nothing shared. Nothing scheduled.
Perhaps the defining characteristic of Wayfarer is what residents don’t have to share.
Rather than concentrating luxury amenities within communal spaces, each three-level residence has been conceived as its own private waterfront retreat.
Every home includes a heated magnesium pool, sauna, dedicated gym and wellness space, private lift and expansive indoor-outdoor entertaining areas — all belonging exclusively to the individual residence.
The six homes range from approximately 363sqm to 525sqm, allowing them to offer the scale and amenity typically associated with a substantial waterfront home while retaining the ease of a lock-and-leave lifestyle.
At Wayfarer, privacy is the luxury.
Designed from the water back
The Broadwater hasn’t simply provided the outlook for Wayfarer; it has informed the architecture itself.
Sandbox Properties Directors Jack Tarrant and Levi Corby have spoken about the sense of openness and possibility they experienced when first standing on the site — looking across uninterrupted water and feeling as though you could simply leave from the shoreline and go anywhere.
That became the starting point for the project.
Extensive glazing, landscaped terraces and generous alfresco spaces draw the waterfront into the homes, while a restrained material palette of natural stone, travertine, timber-grained joinery, split-face stone, bronze aluminium, wool carpet and brushed nickel references the colours and textures of luxury yachts, deep water and the Broadwater shoreline.
The result is architecture that feels connected to its setting rather than imposed upon it.
A project buyers can already see taking shape
Another important point of difference is that Wayfarer didn’t come to market as a promise on paper.
Sandbox Properties commenced construction ahead of the public launch, with the project already well underway when it was officially introduced to the market.
For buyers at this end of the market, that provides something increasingly valuable: the opportunity to see tangible progress and understand the scale, position and relationship to the water before making a decision.
Sandbox’s integrated development and construction model also means the same team responsible for the vision is responsible for delivering it.
Luxury with longevity
Behind the architecture is a considered approach to how these residences will operate well into the future.
Each home incorporates substantial solar and battery storage, EV charging and comprehensive smart-home automation, alongside materials selected as much for longevity as aesthetics.
It reflects a broader shift in luxury residential design: away from excess for its own sake and towards privacy, space, technology, wellness and experiences that genuinely improve the way a home is lived in.
For Wayfarer, that experience begins and ends with the water.
Wake to the Broadwater. Walk onto your own beach. Step aboard from your private berth. Return home to your own pool, sauna and wellness space.
No marina commute. No shared amenity. Nothing left to a schedule.
Six only. One private beach. Endless freedom.
We feel incredibly honoured to be entrusted with the sale of a project of this calibre. Opportunities like Wayfarer are exceptionally rare — not only for Runaway Bay, but for the Gold Coast more broadly — and we’re proud to represent a development that so genuinely reflects the lifestyle and freedom of living on the Broadwater.
